How much do custom cheer uniforms cost?
There is no single price for a custom cheer uniform. Here is what actually drives the cost, what a proper quote should contain, and how to compare two quotes fairly so you are not paying for the wrong thing.

Key takeaways
- A custom cheer uniform is quoted per project. Appearance on screen tells you almost nothing about the labour inside it.
- The two biggest cost drivers are decoration (hand-applied rhinestones versus printed sublimation) and quantity.
- Always ask for a written breakdown: unit price, what it includes, one-off fees, shipping, and how changes after approval are handled.
- Our general MOQ is 10 pcs and production is 10–25 days; the exact minimum and schedule for your design are confirmed in your quote.
Coaches ask this question before anything else, and the honest answer is that a custom uniform is not a product with a price tag. It is a small manufacturing project, and it is quoted like one. Two uniforms that look nearly identical on a screen can differ several times over in cost, because what you pay for is mostly work that you cannot see from the front.
Why there is no single price
When you buy a stock uniform, the factory has already spread the design and setup costs over thousands of pieces. When you buy a custom uniform, that setup happens for your team alone: your colors, your logo, your size list, your deadline. The price therefore reflects the work that goes into your order rather than an average order.
This is also why a supplier who quotes a firm number before seeing your brief is guessing. Either the number will move later, or it already contains padding for the parts they did not ask about.
The five things that move the price
| Factor | Why it matters | How to control it |
|---|---|---|
| Decoration method | Hand-applied rhinestone work is the most labour-intensive part of a cheer uniform. Printed sublimation is produced by machine. | Use print for the base design and place stones where they are seen: front panel, logo, lettering. |
| Quantity | Design, digitising and setup are one-off costs. Spread across more pieces, the unit price falls. | Order the full team at once, plus one or two spares in common sizes. |
| Fabric and construction | Performance knits, mesh panels, linings and the number of separate pieces (top, skirt, brief, bow) all add materials and sewing time. | Decide which parts are performance-critical and which are cosmetic. |
| Sizing complexity | Mixed youth and adult sizes are normal and are produced in the same run. Repeated changes to the size list after cutting are what costs money. | Collect every size before you approve the design. |
| Shipping | Method and destination usually change the landed cost more than people expect. | Ask for the shipping cost as a separate line so you can compare methods. |
What a proper quote should contain
A quote you can actually decide on should list all of the following. If any line is missing, ask for it before you compare anything.
- Unit price and exactly what it includes: which pieces, which liner, whether the bow is included.
- One-off fees: design work, digitising, or sample charges, if any.
- The minimum order for that specific style. Our general MOQ is 10 pcs, but some styles list a higher minimum, and many competition sets start at 20 pieces.
- Production time and when the clock starts. For our orders it is 10–25 days after the design and the size list are confirmed.
- Shipping method, cost and estimated transit time to your country.
- What happens if you change something after approval, and what happens if a size in your list is wrong.
How to compare two quotes fairly
The cheapest quote is often not the cheapest uniform. Line them up side by side on the same criteria:
| Compare | What to check |
|---|---|
| Pieces included | A two-piece quote against a three-piece quote is not a price comparison. |
| Decoration coverage | How many stones, and where? "Rhinestone logo" and "fully stoned front" are different products. |
| Fabric specification | Ask for the fabric name and weight, not just "performance fabric". |
| Sample or swatch | Is a colour swatch or print proof included, and at what cost? |
| Timeline | A lower price with a timeline that misses your first event is not a saving. |
| What is excluded | Duty, tax and local delivery are easy to forget until the invoice arrives. |
How to reduce cost without looking cheap
- Be strategic with stones. Full-coverage rhinestone work is beautiful and expensive. Concentrating stones on the front panel, the logo and the lettering gives most of the visual impact for a fraction of the labour.
- Print the base, stone the highlights. Sublimation carries the color and pattern reliably; stones add the sparkle where the judges and the camera look.
- Order together. One order of thirty pieces costs less per piece than three orders of ten, and it avoids re-matching dye lots later.
- Reuse what you own. If you already have a style from a previous season, reordering it with a new size list avoids the design step entirely.
- Separate competition from practice. Many teams are better served by a competition set plus affordable practice wear than by two competition-quality sets.
- Start from an existing style. Our design concepts are ready starting points: adapting one is faster and cheaper than a blank-sheet design.
What we need in order to quote you
With these details we can come back with a real number instead of a range:
- Product type (competition uniform, practice wear, leotard, skating dress)
- Quantity, and whether you need spares
- Size range and quantity per size, from youth to adult
- Team colors, and a logo or reference image
- Your country, and the date you need the uniforms in hand
If you do not have all of it yet, send what you have. We will tell you which missing detail is actually holding the price up.
Send your brief and we will reply with a written quote, including what is included and what is not.
FAQ
How much do custom cheer uniforms cost?
There is no single price. A custom cheer uniform is quoted per project because the price depends on the decoration method, the quantity, the fabric and the sizing. Rhinestone work is hand-applied and costs more than sublimated print, and larger quantities reduce the unit price because design and setup are spread across more pieces.
Why can't a supplier give a price without seeing my brief?
Because two uniforms that look almost identical on screen can differ several times over in labour. The amount and coverage of rhinestone work, the number of print positions, the fabric and the number of sizes all change the cost. A quote without those details would either be wrong or padded.
What should a custom cheer uniform quote include?
The unit price and what it includes (top, skirt, bow, liner), any one-off design or setup fee, the minimum order for that style, the production time, the shipping method and cost, and how size or design changes after approval are handled.
How can we reduce the cost without the uniforms looking cheap?
Put the rhinestone work where it is seen, for example across the front and the logo only, and use sublimated print for the base design. Increase the quantity if you can, reuse a design you already own, and order practice wear for early events instead of a second competition set.
